Lady Sonya

Minister Sonya Galloway was born and reared in Camden, North Carolina, by her parents the late Benjamin Williams and Doris Sawyer Williams. During her childhood, she was very active at New Shiloh Baptist Church. In 2001, she joined University Park Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Claude Richard Alexander, Jr. In 2003, Minister Galloway answered her call to the preaching ministry. On April 2, 2004, Minister Galloway preached her initial sermon and was licensed as a minister of the gospel.

Minister Galloway is a 2009 graduate of Gardner Webb University with a Master of Science in School Administration. She is also a 1995 graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration. Minister Galloway is currently employed with Rowan-Salisbury School System as an Assistant Principal at North Rowan Middle School. Minister Galloway is also First Lady of Dorsett Chapel United Church of Christ. Minister Galloway is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and is a member of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated Queen City Chapter. Through these organizations, Minister Galloway is able to give back to communities in need. Minister Galloway is grateful to be used by God to minister to his people and share the “Truth” the gospel. She has been married 21 wonderful years to Pastor Rick Galloway and they have one daughter, Re’Niya Lynn.
